Host Marketing Hub

Everything you need to market and promote your Tech Week event. Creative assets, social templates, event inspiration, and tactical advice for a packed room.

EVENTS THAT STAND OUT

Any event type is possible, but these are what we’re especially looking for in 2026. The more creative, the better.

HACKATHONS & BUILD CHALLENGES
Pull in engineers, researchers, and developers. We want events where attendees leave with something they built. Over 10,000 builders showed up last year.
HIGH PRIORITY
HIGH-QUALITY SPEAKER PANELS
CEOs with incredible stories, senior executives, successful founders, celebrities, politicians. The right speaker pulls — one panel drew 700 RSVPs for 100 seats.
HIGH PRIORITY
NEWSWORTHY MOMENTS
Product launches, financing announcements, new exec hires. Tech Week concentrates attention — if you’re launching something, this is when to do it.
HIGH IMPACT
FOUNDER-FOCUSED ACTIVATIONS
Fundraising events, demo days, pitch competitions. Last year a16z Speedrun Demo Day put 60+ founders on stage for rapid-fire pitches to investors.
POPULAR FORMAT
EXPERIENTIAL & COMMUNITY
Pickleball tournaments, wine tastings, golf outings, boat cruises, factory tours.
CROWD FAVORITE
FOR INVESTORS, BY INVESTORS
LP dinners, seed and angel investor gatherings, vertical-specific investor roundtables.
NICHE & VALUABLE
RECOMMENDED NEIGHBORHOODS

You can host anywhere in each city, but these neighborhoods will act as hotspots to create density. Events here typically see higher attendance and lower attrition.

BOSTON
Back Bay, Seaport, Kendall Square
NEW YORK
Manhattan: SoHo, TriBeCa, Flatiron, Union Square
SAN FRANCISCO
SOMA/Mission, FiDi, Marina. Avoid East Bay or South Bay/Peninsula.
LOS ANGELES
Westside, primarily around Santa Monica and Venice

Hosting in these areas creates walkable density across events, which is a huge part of the Tech Week magic.

HASHTAGS & CONTENT CAPTURE

Use these hashtags in your event title and social posts. We’ll be retweeting and resharing content — make sure you’re capturing photos and videos at your event.

Boston
#BOSTechWeek
New York
#NYTechWeek
San Francisco
#SFTechWeek
Los Angeles
#LATechWeek

Include the hashtag in your event title on Partiful (e.g. “Fintech Founders’ Happy Hour — #BOSTechWeek”). This helps attendees find your event and lets us amplify your content across Tech Week’s social channels.

ATTRITION GUIDANCE
50–70% expected attrition at Tech Week events. Approve 2–3x your capacity to ensure a full room.
1. Market to your own audience. Events with the most attrition rely solely on the public Tech Week calendar. The warmer your leads are with your brand, the more likely they show up.
2. Approve applicants within 7 days. The longer people sit “pending,” the less likely they are to attend — they’ll apply to other events instead.
3. Send personalized 1:1 invites. Taking the time to send personal invites to prospects you really want is the single best way to attract a quality crowd. Ask them to pass it on.
4. Send event reminders. Weekly leading up to your event, and daily during Tech Week itself.
5. Approve 2–3x your capacity. Account for enough drop-off to ensure you fill the room. This is the most common mistake first-time hosts make.
